Welcome to my blog!

Hello friends and family!
If you have this website it is because you have supported me through prayer, financial support or both as I prepare for Leadership Training (LT) 2010! I am so excited to see what God has in store for me this summer, 10-weeks of living my every day life, working a full-time job, going through the LT program and living with 7 other girls - what a challenge! :-)
Some of you may already know my expectations and hopes for LT this year, but here they are listed once more so you can remember what you are supporting me in and continue to pray for me this summer!

1. Being stretched in personal discipline and character as I tackle the responsibilities of the program
2. Strengthening my faith through regular times of prayer and study
3. Learning how to passionately and naturally share God's love
4. Understanding how to more effectively live out my faith

I cannot mention enough how excited I am for this experience (and yes, the beach too) I know some days will be very challenging and I will not want to step outside of my comfort zone, but I know that through the prayer of my family and friends at home and the amazing encouragement I will receive from other students in the program and I will strengthen and grow this summer.
For those of you who are wondering what a typical week will look like for me, I will be working a full time job as a server at an ocean-side restaurant (come visit me!) to help save money for tuition in the fall. On Thursdays every student is required to be off work for project days - which can vary from doing outreach projects in the community to building relationships with other students in the program through planned activities. Monday and Tuesday evenings will also be devoted to programs and bible studies with the group.
I just want to thank you all so much for supporting me, thank you for your prayers so far, and for your continued prayers over the summer as I stretch outside of my comfort zone and let God use e for His plan in my life. I'm going to do my best to keep this blog updated over the summer so feel free the check back throughout the summer to see funny pictures, cool stories and unforgettable memories from LT 2010!
